And that really means a lot when you’re out in the middle of the desert and you’re not yet the fiercest member of the Clan of the Fallen. She doesn’t even get that sword of hers till the 1940s or thereabouts.

Woo hoo! Another dream sequence! I always have a lot of fun drawing these two together. It doesn’t seem to happen often enough.

In other news: The entire run of Locus is finally available in TPB format! And, while I’m having some site issues with locuscomics.com, the Locus Store is still online thanks to Good Friend and Movie Madman Victor Couwenbergh. Thanks, Vic!

For those of you who asked, I will be looking into bundle deals where you can order all seven at once and get them all delivered at once. I’ll let you know what they say!

See you next week!

WHAAAAAAT

What are you doing, Adam Black? Where is this leading? You’d better not be turning Silk into one of THOSE CHARACTERS!

It’s cool. You should know by now that you can trust me, right? Stop by next week and you’ll see!

So…are they gonna kiss or not? What do you think? Leave a comment! Lemme know!

Spook’s right, you know: Sphinx are delicious. Unfortunately, Silk’s a vegetarian.

So why does she have such sharp teeth? Spook will ask her that question soon.

Stop by next week! I’ll be starting a new scene now that this one’s over, and something unexpected is going to happen. Stay tuned!

Also: did you know that it’s the fifth anniversary of Raven’s Dojo? Well, it is! Head on over there and say hi to Raven! He’s been a Locus fan from Year One, and a great friend to boot. He’s been extremely helpful behind the scenes all these years. I don’t know what I’d do without his friendship.

Speaking of webcomic friends, DJ Coffman has started up again with Yirmumah! DJ’s the one who got me the Kiss 4K job, in case you didn’t know. It was DJ who got me back into making comics. I was wallowing in IT hell up until that point. Thanks, Deej!

And I finally got the chance to sit down and answer last week’s comments! So go check those out between now and next Wednesday.

In other news: I’m still working on Locus: Godslayer, but I’m rewriting the beginning again, thanks to valuable feedback from Gary Cohen. Thanks for the assist, Gary! Once I get it rewritten, I’ll be posting some sneak peeks to my Locus Comics Community over on G+. Join up now!

See you soon! Hopefully it won’t take me almost a week to answer comments this time!

To say that Spook has a way with the ladies would be an absolute lie.

Ladies, if a bloody and beat-to-hell Spook offered you the severed head of the sphinx you just shot, would you take it? I’m curious.

Stop by next week! Let’s see how Silk takes this gesture.

Long-time Locus fans will remember that Spook has two hearts and four lungs, as shown on the cover to Locus, Issue 8.

It sure is fun to draw Spook getting all chewed up. I haven’t done it in a long time, and we were all way overdue for that.

Stop by next week! Silk learns a little something about O’kot’tu culture. Because it’s always good to expand your horizons.

Silk gets to shoot The Gun for the first time. A Locus fan named Tiphanie Black (no relation) knows exactly how she feels.

The Sphinx’s last riddle is courtesy of Gary Cohen, who writes a superhero humor comic called Mallville Rules. Gary wrote two riddles for me, but one didn’t survive a rewrite. I may use it later.

Gary’s also the creator of one of my favorite characters, Mad Dog’s Mom. Go check out his comic and see for yourself! I even did some fan art for him last year. I can’t figure out where it is on the site; you’ll have to ask him!

In other news: GODSLAYER!

The Locus: Godslayer script absolutely will not leave me alone right now. Currently, it stands at 10 (maybe 12) 24-page issues. There are a couple twists and turns, which means it’s not quite fully written. But it’s finally taken shape to the point where I can’t write it down fast enough.

I thought I’d share the good news with you guys! And explain why I might not have much of an internet presence for awhile. I’ll be here tomorrow to answer comments, though! So lemme know what’s on your mind.

Thanks for checking out today’s page! I hope you dig it. I gotta get back to writing now.

Silk has never used a firearm before, especially not a one-of-a-kind single-action magic pistol.

Spook’s gonna have to have that claw in his eye socket a little longer than expected.

I watched a bunch of lion attack videos on YouTube before drawing this fight scene, and it totally changed the fight. I realized that I’d originally added a lot of bad decisions to the sphinx’s attack plan. In real life, lions don’t fool around. They jump on you and bite the hell out of you till you’re done moving.

Go check out lion attack videos on YouTube! But not if you’re squeamish.

Stay tuned! This may or may not go the direction you think it might.

In a previous version of the script, the Sphinx finds the burnt book at the Watchmaker’s house and gives it to Hampstead. So she knew about The Gun, and this fight went much differently.

But she doesn’t know about it, which means she’s in for two nasty surprises.

Turn around! She’s RIGHT BEHIND YOU!

Stop by next week! Big fight! No bullshit!
