This very disturbing scene continues! But it’s almost over. The whole thing has been building up to what happens on the very next page, so don’t get scared away! You’ll miss the big payoff.

Happy New Year! I hope you had a good one. I sure did. What did you guys do for New Year’s Eve? The Missus and I hung out with Mr. and Mrs. Hambone and we watched all 3 Harold & Kumar movies, which I had never seen. Those were very funny.

If panel two seems a little confusing, it’s because the Ael is hinting at the fact that succubi only get pregnant when they want to. Silk explained this to Isaac waaaay back in Locus Issue 6…a scene which takes place a hundred years later than the scene on today’s page.

There was some confusion when I was making Locus about how the succubi assume human form. There were some who thought it was an optical illusion: the wings and stuff were still there, but you couldn’t see them. It is, in fact, a physical transformation.

This is the first time we’ve ever seen a succubus in the middle of changing her shape, and the wings (and tail) come out pointy-ends first. This is why no succubi or half-succubi wear shirts in Locus.

The inking is getting better, but you can’t really see it on this page. These low-res PNG images aren’t really showing the brushwork. Let me know if you’d like to see some hi-res images and where you’d like to see them posted.

When was the last time I drew a real, live Ael? Waaaay back in Issue 3 of Locus, that’s when!

Back then, I had no space in the story to explain just how awful these things really are. I will be rectifying that situation in Silk & Honey, so stay tuned!

In other news, it’s less than 2 weeks till Christmas, and I’m busy as hell with stuff I can’t tell you about yet. But it’s all very cool, I promise!

Tune in next week! We’ll get to see a young Silk in her normal form, and we haven’t done that yet for this story!

Let’s get back to Silk, shall we? And, like I said last week, she’s not doing well.

In other news: I’m extremely busy! The Christmas season is proving to be more fruitful than the whole of 2012, which is much needed. So you might not hear much from me this month. Silk & Honey, of course, will keep its schedule.

And as of today, the Kickstarter campaign for Raven’s Dojo Book One is a week away from ending, and Raven still hasn’t reached his goal! Click here and check it out! He’s got an insane deal on his first full-color graphic novel, and it’s a better deal than the Locus books, by far. Not to mention all the perks and incentives! I’ve drawn some stuff, too.

For the record: Spook should’ve kept that book. He’d be ruling the world right now if he’d have kept that book. It was full of all sorts of useful stuff.

I’ve mentioned that I’m trying to make every page look better than the last, and that involves getting to know my brush better. I’m learning that the more I let my brush do its own thing, the more the comic looks like Sin City. I might email Frank Miller and ask him about this. It’s an interesting discovery nonetheless. I may pursue it a bit further.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! My friend Raven calls it “Food Christmas”. We’ll be having a Moroccan-themed Thanksgiving. It’s very delicious. I hope you have a good Food Christmas this year, too!

Silk is a succubus, and as such, she tends to get into people’s heads. This entire comic, in fact, will be about Silk’s effect on everyone around her. It will cause problems.

This page was a lot of fun to draw! I’m currently working on an art style I call “Make Every Page Look Better Than The Last”, and I haven’t been keeping up with that very well so far. Sorry about that.

So stop by next week! Let’s see if I can get back on track here.

Oh, and if you know someone who likes reading western comics, especially ones with monsters and violence, invite them to drop in! SNH needs more readers.

Succubi usually hide three things: their ears, their pointy canines, and the base of their horns. Exposing the base of your horns is considered masculine, so only incubi do that.

Also, a succubus’ tail will often point to whomever or whatever she is thinking about. You can tell a young or immature succubus by the fact that her tail oftentimes points to herself.

Go back and re-read Locus and keep track of who the tails of Silk, Eden, Sammael (in the form of Dee’s incubus father), and even Locus’ tulpa point to! It’s fun.

Happy Halloween! I hope you have a good time tonight, although if you’re an adult, you probably already had your Halloween party last weekend. That’s fine with me!

I’m happy with today’s page. SNH was going to be a fun way to improve my inking, and I haven’t been doing that the last couple of pages. But I’m back on track with this page!
